John Mulrenan

| John Mulrenan has had a long and varied career in the music industry. While majoring in Music in college at the age of twenty he had a self composed chart single with “Heavens Here On earth” on RCA. from the mid sixties to the late seventies he was the leader of several of the leading bands in New Jersey: Rasputin and the Mad Monks, Godzilla, Red Moon Blues Band, Hudson County, and Gunner. (Godzilla had the pleasure of opening for Bruce Springsteens “Steel Mill” a few times.)
During the Eighties john did national tours with English Blues legend Long John Baldry and chart topper Benny Mardones, whose single “Into the Night” was one of the few records to reach number one twice. He also toured with “Musique” who hit the top ten three times in a row. After many years on the road John decided to devote more time to home life and songwriting so he developed his unique single act incorporating the latest technologies to entertain in a more intimate, personal fashion. He has often been referred to in New Jersey as one of the most consistently workings acts with thirty eight years of playing full time. He has played such varied venues as Carnegie Hall, The Stone Pony, World Yacht Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Trude Hellers, Harlows, Steve Paul’s Scene, the Agora Clubs, and many festivals, concerts and charities, not to mention most of the clubs in New Jersey. John’s unique singing style has been compared to everyone from Ray Charles to Bob Seegar. His emotional style, wide repertoire and obvious experience recommend him to anyone seeking a consummate professional. “I have played many weddings, parties, anniversaries, and celebrations of life. there’s nothing I enjoy more. Let me make your occasion elegant and unique.” |
